Location
Numerous villages are scattered across the Riviera del Brenta and along the river itself, villages that date back to the XVII and the XVIII centuries, and that are full of history, art and culture.
The refined summer mansions built over the centuries by the nobles of Venice have been the real witnesses of the history of the Riviera and today they are considered a typical feature of the river
banks.
The villas also house numerous masterpieces belonging to Italian and Venetian art.
In this area cultural and folk events take place all the year round. A few examples are the carnevale degli storti in February, the regattas in May, the summer shows held in the villas and the procession on water in September.
Tourists are also attracted by the beautiful natural landscape of the Riviera, and by the emotions
conveyed by the lagoon, the parks and the fields. Besides, the Riviera is located within a few minutes from Venice and from Padua, near the beaches and next to the hills: the ideal headquarter
for your tours in the surroundings.

Dining
Walk into one of the many restaurants along the Riviera and in the bordering areas and you will be immediately feel the strong sense of hospitality that made the lazy 18th century summers on the Brenta a source of joy, and the excuse for endless revelries, parties and dances.
Todays chefs have added their flair to the traditional recipes, the rustic food of the country people whose everyday fare was fasioi (beans), or cappone (capon, which gives an excellent broth), and the typically Veneto poenta e oseleti (birds with polenta).
But the Venetian tradition is based mainly on fish. Raw or cooked, ranging from sarde in saor (sardines, fried and then marinated in vinegar with onions, raisins and pine nuts), to baccalà mantecato (creamed cod), seppioline alla veneziana (cuttlefish cooked in its ink), to the celebrated moeche fritte (fried soft-shell crabs at sloughing time, when they are at their tenderest). The food finds its perfect companion in the wines of the Venetian tradition, first and foremost the wonderfully fresh petillant prosecco.
