Description This is a small, welcoming hotel with seven well-furnished, fully-equipped bedrooms offering luxurious holiday accommodation in one of the prettiest parts of Tuscany. Most of the rooms have marvellous views over the Valdichiana and Lake Trasimeno, the others look out over an enclosed, furnished garden area ? perfect for reading or a relaxing cup of tea with local biscuits and delicacies. You can enjoy the panoramic views over breakfast on the veranda, take a refreshment at the bar, or dine at our excellent restaurant ? either a la carte or sampling a range of our local recipes, which make use of the best Tuscan produce. There is a wide, carefully selected wine list, concentrating of course on the excellent wines of Tuscany. Supplied with magnetic keys, guests have excellent freedom of movement, and there is very good access for the handicapped, both inside and outside the hotel. New outdoor swimming pool and relaxing area at free disposal of guests on the terraces with breathtaking view.

Most of the rooms have marvelous views over the Valdichiana and Lake Trasimeno, the others look out over an enclosed, furnished garden area ? perfect for reading or a relaxing cup of tea with local biscuits and delicacies.Supplied with magnetic keys, guests have excellent freedom of movement, and there is very good access for the handicapped, both inside and outside the hotel. The bedrooms are comfortable and spacious, and furnished with all modern conveniences, including satellite TV, fridge and phone. There is also internet access in the lobby of the hotel.

Location The old centre of Cortona, saved from over-development by its mediæval walls, is a lovely place to explore on foot ? with excellent restaurants and shops, museums, churches and a Medici fortress. The city centre is an easy, pleasant walk of about a kilometre from the hotel. The area also has some outstanding trails for horseriding, walking or cycling, and guided excursions are available by arrangement. Dardanus, by legend the founder of CORTONA and more famously Troy, is supposed to have lost his helmet (in Greek corythos - also the root of the name Cortona) here during a battle with the locals. The area was for a long time a stronghold of the Etruscans and has a wealth of archeological and cultural remains to discover during your holiday. Here too you will find ample evidence of Roman, mediæval and Renaissance influences.

The closest international Airport is in Florence, but there is another small airport in Perugia.

From Train Station:

Milan-Florence-Rome railway (Terontola-Cortona: main one; Camucia-Cortona: nearest one).

From Road:

Cortona is in province of Arezzo, right in the middle of Central Italy. It can be reached swiftly and easily, being served by the Autostrada del Sole A1 -Valdichiana exit-, state motorway S.S. 75 to Perugia, exit direction Cortona, or exit to Castiglione del Lago, at stop turn at your right and take S.S. 71, after Terontola, Riccio and Camucia, at 2nd traffic-lights turn at your right direction Cortona, skirt the external walls and follow the sign for Corys.

Breakfast and lunch are served in the garden overlooking the splendid Valdichiana valley and lake Trasimene. Guests can enjoy the crisp morning air and later the coolness of the midday shade.
