Description An old flour factory dating from the year 1827 was totally reformed in order to offer the visitor all the amenities and comfort of a modern hotel. Some of the rooms have two floors, making use of the enormous interior height of the old building.
Location
El Chorro:
The surrounding landscapes, which filled the King Alfons XIII with enthusiasm, when he visited ?El Chorro? in order to admire the technological achievements of his time, the construction of the first electricity production centre of Andalusia, as well as the construction of the beautiful nearby reservoirs, which are the base of the electricity production and assure at the same time the rich fauna and flora of this protected area. In former times 3000 inhabitants transported the necessary material over a narrow path, partially cut out of the rock, nowadays known as the ?Camino del Rey? (path of the king). Alfons XIII insisted in walking down the same way as the workers each day, admiring the magnificent views. Today this region is internationally well-known for its climbing facilities for all levels and its wide range of outdoor activities, attracting visitors from such far away countries like Finland and Japan, in order to enjoy surroundings where you can still observe eagles, Royal vultures, cabra monteses (the Spanish ibex) and many other animals in danger of extinction. The incomparable region ?Desfiladero de los Gaitanes?, the Arabic ruins of ?Bobastro? and the cave ?Cueva de Ardales? are just a short distance from the hotel.
From Airport:
From Málaga take the highway A7 in direction Almería until you get to the exit ?Universidad ? Cártama?, which brings you on the road in the direction of ?Campillos?. Follow this road until you reach the village ?Ardales?. The cross road turns left into the village, to your right you will see the sign ?Embalses?. This picturesque road guides you directly to ?El Chorro?, the village of the hotel, which is situated on top of a hill, visible from all sides.
From Seville, approaching on the highway A92, take the exit ?La Roda de Andalucía? and follow the signs to ?Campillos?. Once arriving at the town, turn left into the road to ?Ronda / Ardales?. After a few kilometres you will see to your left the sign ?Embalses?. Passing over several dams keep following the signs to ?El Chorro?.
Coming from Granada and Córdoba go to Antequera and follow the signs to ?Campillos?. Once there - see the above description.
From Train Station:
